Long ago when I was young the days seemed long and my summers seemed precious. Thanks to age and defying storylines that created the most eccentric and fun filled memories of my life, I’ve become a man named Afro.
Afro is a simple guy, he smokes American Spirits, listens to the same rotation of music for long periods of time before he switches songs, and he is always after something.
These “somethings” can be but of many things. A computer, skateboards, an atlantis BIC, heine bros coffee, a woman, money, a college degree, and the list goes on.
With so much on the table, Afro feels overwhelmed and turns to vibrations of sound to express his feelings towards everyday life and how he is treated.
Sometimes Afro chains smokes cigarettes will drinking starbucks coffee that was brewed at home inside of a small little garage. This garage is what Afro has dubbed “Studio 24,” and creates a lot of his music inside of those four corners.
When Afro is alone he gets really sad, so sad that he smokes more weed and chains smokes more cigarettes to ease his mind as he tries to write through his blurry eyes. Even when Afro does this to himself he still doesn’t shed a single tear. He tries to but most of the time it doesn’t happen.
Frustrated Afro reaches for a bottle that only holds 24oz’s.
He then cries every tear he was holding in until he falls asleep.

This has been one short summer. I get a job at UPS and my summer disappears within a blink of an eye. Its crazy how life will soon be a bitter place once we become old and can’t do anything without the help of “healthy” people. If I was an old man in a nursing home, I would go crazy…..CRAZY! I’m serious, how many of y’all would want to be in a building with a bunch of other old smelly old folks? Just think if all you y’all was young again!? It would be hectic up in there.
What I’m really here to talk a bout other then silly little facts in life is about how love can screw a man over. I’ve never really been in love or maybe even head over heals for a women but it can really mess you up. The only advice that I can give you is to not fall in love because it will bite you in the back like a piranha came out the water and was after ya’. I’m serious! You better be a bachelor all your life and just have sex with everyone hot chick you find…BUT DON’T FALL IN LOVE!
Now if it does come to the point that you are with someone and you want to marry them…well that’s a whole other story right there. Like my buddy CJ said, “I gotta really love this women if I’m gonna marry her”, and thats true! Just think about it, you gotta be with that women or man for the rest of your miserable human life. I can’t do it, you got to be out of your mind if you think I’m gonna marry a chick. It may happen though, I wanna have kids and all and you know..raise a family. But thats down the road. Right now I’m trying to chill and not let some dumb hot braud interfer with what I’m trying to do with myself.
Somebody tell her to CLOSE THEM LEGS CUS’ I AIN’T GETTIN’ IN-BETWEEN THEM!

So just yesterday on May the 14th, I competed in the Red Bull Manny Mania, which is a skateboarding contest that is held every year is different cities. This was my first ever contest that I have entered and I was super nervous. Just to give you a little description of what the contest is about, it is a contest where you have to do manuels during the whole time you are skating. I would go into some detail on how the contest works but I’ll just leave you with a video to find out for yourself.
Anyways I was super stoked that I got to enter, although I had to wait on my father to come up there and help sign me up since I was under the age of 18, but the feeling I got sitting there waiting for my round or what they called “heat” to come up was nerve racking. I was in the last heat and I had enough time to practice in between heats. When it came up for my heat to go I went for it, I threw down every trick that came to my head. That hard part was trying to think of what trick to do after you landed one. To add to all of that we only had 8 minutes. So in those 6 minutes I was sweating hard, breathing hard and thinking my hardest. I land some pretty good tricks and got a lot of props from the crowd cheering me on and stuff. But sadly, I didn’t make it to the final round.
It was a pretty good experience, I just can’t wait for next year so I can compete again.
I leave you with this video of the Red Bull Manny Mania 2010 World Finals 2010. Its the same kind of skating I went through just with the world finalist.
